Greene Chamber Welcomes Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce gives a warm welcome to new Member, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc (NHN). Founded in 2020, NHN is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing individuals and families in Greene and Putnam Counties with critical, one-time support when they need it most.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is powered by more than 300 members and volunteers offering a hand up to neighbors facing hardship. The organization focuses on three key service areas: critical home repairs, critical car repairs and vehicle replacements, and beds for kids without one of their own. From roof repairs to wheelchair ramps to reliable transportation, NHN’s work restores hope, stability, and dignity for many, including children, single mothers, veterans, the elderly, and those living with a disability.

Newly appointed Executive Director Allyn Rippin shared her passion for the organization, saying: “What drew me to NHN was the opportunity to make a direct and tangible difference in someone’s life. Individuals and families thrive when they have the right conditions in place. I’m proud of the role NHN plays - along with our volunteers, members and community partners - to restore dignity and hope for our neighbors in need. We’re building a community where people care deeply, show up for one another, and believe in their power to make a difference.”
